Over the last several years I had numerous opportunities to get to know you, your credentials, and most importantly your heart.  It has become quite evident to me that you are a community minded, service oriented and dedicated leader that wants to continue to build upon the foundation and legacy of the forefathers of McPherson County. In today's environment, it is absolutely essential we have leaders such as yourself serving the citizens of our communities.  It is with those items in mind, I am pleased to provide you with my whole-hearted endorsement for the McPherson County Commission.

McPherson County friends...I hope you'll join me in supporting David O'Dell for county commissioner. I've known Dave for over 40 years, he was my first campaign treasurer, and a more solid and upright individual you'll not find.

We've had the pleasure of knowing Dave O'Dell for the past several years. Dave has been a deeply engaged member of the McPherson County E-Community leadership team since the partnership began in 2010 and it's not coincidental that the McPherson County E-Community is one of the better performing partnerships we have in the State. 

Over the past 14 years, as I've worked with Dave as a board member, as a member of the E­Community leadership team, and through his work with the McPherson SBDA, I've known him to be an advocate for small business and a strong supporter of McPherson County.

I worked for David O’Dell for a brief time early in my career when I was completing the requirements to earn my CPA Certificate.  Later, I assisted with the workload in his office when one of his employees was on sick leave.  Dave is highly qualified as a CPA and has the knowledge of how government works.  He is a person that gets things done.  Dave’s Christian character is outstanding.   He loves God, country and community and has been involved with numerous community and state organizations.  I was a student of Dave’s at McPherson College and more recently, our son had him as a professor for a couple of his classes.  We will be voting for David O’Dell for McPherson County Commissioner 3rd District.

I would like to give my endorsement to Dave O'Dell as a reelection candidate for the position of McPherson County Commission representing District 3.  I had the privilege of working with Dave on the faculty at McPherson College for twenty six years.  Dave's many awards included Chair of the Business Department,  Faculty Chair, and Professor of the Year.  He has been involved in the community as a member of the school board.  As a Christian and member of Countryside Covenant Church, Dave and I have been involved in several small groups that have met for Sunday night Bible discussions.   A thoughtful man and lifetime McPherson resident Dave is well qualified for the District 3 position on the McPherson County Commission. 

I support David O’Dell for county commissioner. David O’Dell, a lifelong resident of the great city of McPherson, has shown and continues to show how he values the people of McPherson County. In the 1980’s, David represented taxpayers and parents with school age children while serving on the local school board for six years. Throughout his life, David has displayed leadership, from his high school days of achieving the Eagle Scout honor to the recent years of being the department chair for many years at McPherson College. For the past 46 years, David has shown me how to listen before inserting an opinion, how to see a bigger picture, how to be intentional in valuing all people. Growing up as his daughter, I assumed all fathers were as active in leadership as he was. Most weeks, dad would commit a few evenings to a McPherson College committee, a hospital board meeting, a bank board meeting, or serving on a state level board of directors. Looking back, as an adult and taxpayer, I value the commitment my father modeled to my sister and I as a servant hearted leader. His voice represents others. I can’t think of a better person to continue to represent us as county commissioner.

When Integrated Components, Inc. was founded in 2001, under the name of J and L Gear and Machine, David was hired as our accountant and CPA. As a supplier of parts and assemblies to the major aircraft producers in our country, our company struggled in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. David was a steady hand and a guiding voice in his role as a professional consultant to our business. However, and perhaps more importantly, he was a friend when we needed one most. During those times, he showed empathy and understanding for our situation. He counseled and prayed with us, all while offering sage advice and suggestions. 

These are the qualities that I believe David will bring to the McPherson County Commission. The vast experience David offers is needed more than ever in these trying times. David's professional experience is expansive. He has served many companies and individuals as a trusted advisor and successful CPA. In my experience, his ethics are above reproach. He has taught many young people through his involvement in higher education, specifically in 40 years of teaching business at McPherson College. David has served in various volunteer roles, including his leadership with the South Central Kansas Economic Development District and the Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship. His knowledge and expertise have been utilized by all those you have served in the past and will be a true asset to the County Commission.
